    Founder and Wealth Partner

Founder, Wealth Partner, Podcast Host, Business Owner and now Author!

Shaped by more than 25 years of experience as a business owner and as the current owner of a soon-to-be 3rd generation financial advisory business, Tim has seen and lived it all with his clients. It is through these experiences that he coined the phrase Two-Comma Life® as a mindset to help people live their lives in freedom, abundance, and generosity. He not only embraces the Two-Comma Life® personally, but also brings it to his business, to The Retirement Readiness Podcast, and most recently to his book Shatter Your Fishbowl: Live Your Two-Comma Life®

Following Tim’s experience growing PrairieView Wealth & Tax Advisors, he had the desire to help other advisors grow and scale their businesses too. So that’s what he did. Together with his business partner he started Focus Forward, a business all about partnering with financial advisory firms which allows firms to offload things like: New Account Opening, Drafting Financial Plans, Investment Operations, and Service Work. This gives them the opportunity to scale like larger firms but with the help Tim wishes he had. The unique part of what Tim does is the way he combines his wealth of knowledge about the financial industry with his genuine care for the client experience to produce top of the line financial advisory firms still centered on outstanding client experience.

Outside of business, Tim loves his family, God, a good book, some good food, and his country!

Here’s to living your life outside the bowl.

Wealth & Tax Partner, Director of Operations

Whether I’m relaxing at home or helping folks in the office, I always strive to be a lifelong learner. I believe there’s tremendous value in understanding who my clients are, what’s standing in their way, and where they’d like to go. From there, I help provide thoughtful solutions and close guidance to better move them towards those goals.

I was raised to cherish my family, live my faith, and enjoy the little things in life. That’s why some of my favorite memories from childhood are the days spent fishing on the lake with my grandparents. In the quietest moments, it’s amazing how much clarity can come. This is a lesson I keep with me today while serving clients and enjoying time with loved ones.

My wife of over 25 years, Julie, and I are blessed with four amazing children: Bengt, Anna, Aden, and Eddie. With three moved away beginning their adult life and Eddie starting college, we are enjoying even more quiet moments than ever before.

Julie and I enjoy a road trip and exploring new places. When we’re out traveling, we’ll always try out new restaurants and breweries wherever we are. But when we stay close to home, don’t be surprised if you see me at Wrigley cheering on the Cubs or Soldiers Field watching the Bears.

Now that you know a bit about me and my family, I thoroughly look forward to learning more about yours. I’m here to help guide you through today while pursuing your greater purpose for tomorrow.

Outside of the office, I’m fueled by strong coffee, spontaneous travel, and a good thriller novel (bonus points if there’s a twist ending… or a little spice). Since I was a little kid, being in the office and working with my dad has been my dream. Today as I am nearing the end of my college career, I can say the same is true. I am currently attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH majoring in Economics and Political Science and minoring in Finance and Spanish. Post graduation in the spring of 2026, I look forward to being in the office full time and continuing my career with PrairieView Wealth & Tax Advisors.

Throughout my time with PrairieView, I have had the ability to sit in on countless meetings with my Dad and see how this role is so much more than just financial advice. My dad is a trusted resource and has touched the lives of so many people. To see the impact that PrairieView can have on the lives of others is what drives me to join the industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to become a trusted financial resource to our clients and carry on the work of my Grandpa and Dad while also expanding to serve even more families and businesses.

My passion lies in creating seamless, behind-the-scenes processes that allow our team to deliver service that is prompt, accurate, and consistent. I find great satisfaction in knowing that the systems I help build and maintain allow us to serve our clients with excellence and heart. Every task I take on, no matter how big or small, plays a part in supporting the important life moments we help our clients navigate—whether it’s retirement, a big move, or simply a sense of ease and clarity in their financial journey.

I believe that the strength of a firm comes from how well it serves others, and my role allows me to support both our team and our client family in meaningful ways. There’s a quiet joy in helping things run smoothly, making space for thoughtful conversations, and ensuring that our clients feel cared for—not just as account holders, but as people with stories, dreams, and legacies.

Outside of the office, you’ll likely find me making memories with my family and friends or planning my next adventure—ideally one that feels like a “two-comma life” dream getaway! I also have a soft spot for baby animals, quirky little pets, wildlife, and the beauty of nature. These moments serve as a reminder that life is made up of meaningful details, both big and small—the very kind I aim to recognize and support in my work each day.

It’s a blessing to be part of a team that treats each client like family and truly wants to see them live their legacy with confidence. I’m grateful to contribute to that mission in my own unique way.

    Podcast Co-Host

Meet Katie Umland, the co-host of our “Retirement Readiness” podcast.

There are a few things in this world I’m passionate about: my family, my health, and helping our team guide clients to live for their greater purpose. Oh, and I can’t forget deep-dish pizza.

In April 2022, my husband, Alex, and I welcomed our first child, Dylan. As any parent knows, bringing new life into this world really helps you understand what’s most important. That’s why I truly cherish the time spent with my family, like the evening walks we take together every night.

In fact, I’m convinced that heaven looks an awful lot like reading a book on the couch while my husband watches the White Sox game with Dylan by his side.

I know family and faith are important to the clients we serve as well. That’s why caring for you and your loved ones financial future is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I consider all clients an extension of my family, and that means caring for their financial needs as if they were my own.

Hi, my name is Owen Burns, and I’m excited to be joining PrairieView as a Data Support Specialist Intern! I’m currently a rising junior at Florida State University, where I’m pursuing degrees in Finance and Information Systems. In this role, I’ll be helping the team stay organized through data management and operational support that keeps the client experience running smoothly.

Growing up as one of four siblings, family has always been at the center of everything I do. Some of my favorite memories are playing board games at home or heading to a White Sox or Cubs game with friends and family. That sense of closeness and looking out for the people you care about is a big part of why the work PrairieView does resonates with me, helping families feel secure and confident about their financial future.

Outside of work and school, I’m usually at the gym or on the pickleball court. I’m really looking forward to learning a lot this summer and being a part of the PrairieView team!

    Junior Business Development Intern

Hi! I am Jenna, a Business Development Junior Intern at PrairieView. In the fall, I will be starting my junior year at North Central College where I am majoring in Finance. I have always been interested in finance, but financial literacy draws me to it. In my own life, I have seen how common it is for individuals, specifically those my age, to lack financial knowledge. After I earn my degree, I want to share my gained financial knowledge with others to help them understand the importance of financial planning. I believe that financial planning can truly be a benefit to anybody and will contribute to long-term success.

Furthermore, I enjoy my executive board positions in clubs at NCC. These commitments have helped me improve my professionalism, collaboration with others, and gain experience with tracking finances. I found that these positions have brought me fulfillment and have allowed me to work on my leadership skills as well. In my personal life, my faith and family are valued to me. I also enjoy going for walks, listening to music, attending concerts and comedy shows.
